🥩 Ingredients

Ribs

2 racks pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)

1 tsp salt

1 tsp black pepper

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp smoked paprika (optional)

1 tbsp oil

Honey Teriyaki Sauce

½ cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)

⅓ cup honey

¼ cup brown sugar

¼ cup mirin (or rice vinegar + 1 tsp sugar)

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated (or 1 tsp ground ginger)

1 tbsp cornstarch

2 tbsp water

1 tsp sesame oil (optional, but great)

Optional Garnish

Sesame seeds

Chopped green onions

🔪 Instructions

1️⃣ Prep the Ribs

Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs.

Rub ribs with oil, then season evenly with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

2️⃣ Slow Bake (Tenderize)

Place ribs on a foil-lined baking sheet.

Cover tightly with foil.

Bake for 2–2½ hours until ribs are very tender.

3️⃣ Make the Honey Teriyaki Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine:

Soy sauce

Honey

Brown sugar

Mirin

Garlic

Ginger

Simmer 5–7 minutes.

Mix cornstarch with water, then stir into sauce.

Cook until thick and glossy (2–3 minutes).

Stir in sesame oil if using.

4️⃣ Glaze & Finish

Remove foil from ribs.

Brush generously with honey teriyaki sauce.

Increase oven temperature to 425°F (220°C).

Bake uncovered for 15–20 minutes, basting once more, until sticky and caramelized.

🔥 Optional Grill Finish (Highly Recommended)

Grill ribs over medium heat 3–5 minutes per side, brushing with extra sauce.

Watch closely to avoid burning.

🍽️ Serve With

Steamed rice or fried rice

Coleslaw

Grilled pineapple or corn

Pickled cucumbers

💡 Tips

Want spicy? Add 1–2 tsp sriracha or chili flakes to the sauce.

For extra sticky ribs, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end.

Sauce can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for 1 week.
