½ cup extra-virgin olive oil (the best quality you can get)

2 cloves garlic, finely minced or grated

1 tbsp balsamic vinegar (optional but recommended)

Herbs & Spices

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp dried basil

½ tsp dried thyme

½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

½ tsp black pepper, freshly cracked

¼ tsp salt, or to taste

Fresh Add-ins (Optional but amazing)

1 tbsp fresh chopped parsley

1 tbsp fresh basil, chiffonade

1 tbsp grated Parmesan or Pecorino Romano

½–1 tsp lemon zest
